Vineyard

Our original Nebbiolo block (with all 6 clones) sits halfway up the north-western slope on Block 2A, soaking up all the sun it can, essential for Nebbiolo’s long, slow ripening arc.

Vinification

Picked in early May, the fruit was destemmed and fermented with wild yeast, spending 12 days on skins with regular plunging and foot stomping to build structure and extract. No temperature control -just a natural, slow ferment. After pressing, the wine was transferred to 500-litre French oak puncheons (20% new), where it remained for 18 months before bottling without fining or filtration.

Vintage

The 2021 season was mild and measured -
ideal for Nebbiolo, which needs plenty of hang time on the vine. A long, steady ripening period delivered fruit with depth, detail and that fine tannin line we look for. Seems 2021 was the season for it.
